Freddie and Nenny WIP
May 2, 2012
It's been a while since I modeled something. I'm starting to model two characters Freddie and Nenny. They're two character designs from another story my friend pitched, but I will be using them on my short that involves a rubix cube world. Right now I have plenty in my mind so hopefully I can chip them off one by one while I'm immersed in 3d. Updates soon.

Belated New Year 2: When The Crystal Ball Doesn't Drop
Sunday, October 10, 2010
This is for a class assignment on picture books. Our task is to create a 6 panel that's 5" x 7" and tell a story by just using images. The Illustrator file is just to rough out my concept; there were other concepts such as Aesop's Fables "Ant and the Grasshopper" and a space scene. I liked this one the most because it's fantasy theme.

This was drawn by a 1st grade art student at Bowling Green Elementary School, where I'm currently doing my observation hours. The partially exposed fishes show the student's understanding of what is visible outside of the water. I cleaned up the picture to get rid of extra markings that were not created by the student.Friday, February 5, 2010

A homage to MGS4: Guns of the Patriots
Updated cans
Latest version: I just tweaked the "A Revolutionary Beer" on the horizontal can so that it is visible and legible. It's too bad alot of the colors get crunched down once you output as a JPEG.
Old version: I added a low intensity light at the bottom of the cans and I rendered the reflection as a separate pass, so that it can be tweaked in Photoshop.
Older version: The bottom of the cans were too dark and the reflections were too sharp.

Domino Rally
There was a project I did last year that involved domino rally. During that short project, my friend and I surfed youtube and came upon ads done by Domino Domain; they did the domino sequence in V for Vendetta. It would be nice to do the real thing, but the great thing about CG dominoes is the undo button. The only problem was having so many dominoes (exactly 3,160 tiles) that the simulation took too long to calculate. So, with a little elbow grease, I worked my way around the slow simulation calculation.

rubiks cube
The Rubick's cube animation was created using alot of group nodes per block to avoid Gimbal lock. You can do the same using Quaternion interpolation, but I felt that using group nodes were much easier. The only draw back was that I could only have four rotation then Gimbal lock starts.
